Emerald is an intense, rich green from the Vallejo Model Color range. This saturated emerald tone blends elegance with versatility and is perfect for painting ornate armor, magical crystals, gemstones, heraldic elements, or sci-fi energy details. It immediately adds character and depth to your miniatures and display pieces.
With high pigmentation and a matte finish, Emerald offers excellent coverage and builds smoothly in multiple thin layers. It dries evenly without visible brush marks and is well-suited for techniques like glazing, layering, and edge highlighting. Its fine texture makes it ideal for both detailed work and broader surfaces.
Emerald pairs beautifully with other Model Color shades. For highlights or softer accents, mix with 70951 White or layer over with 70833 Emerald Green (Light) if available. For shadows and deeper tones, use 70970 Deep Green or 70965 Prussian Blue to create rich transitions in everything from foliage to magical effects.
For contrast-rich color schemes, Emerald shines alongside warm hues like 70910 Orange Red or 70829 Amaranth Red. These combinations are especially effective in fantasy or sci-fi contexts where vibrant palettes are desired.
In dioramas, Emerald is great for banners, magical columns, carved decorations, or stained-glass detailing. It also works wonderfully on reptilian scales, elite uniforms, or as a decorative finish on high-ranking characters. Its matte quality allows for controlled light behavior and effective highlights in key areas.
The paint comes in an 18ml r-PET bottle with a precise dropper top. This ensures clean and efficient paint use, preserves quality, and helps with consistent mixing. If the dropper clogs, it can be easily cleared with a needle or toothpick.
As with all Model Color paints, Emerald is fully lightfast and made with permanent pigments. Mistakes are easy to correct while the paint is still wet using water or alcohol, making it suitable for beginners and professionals alike.
