Sky Blue is a light, airy shade in the Vallejo Model Color range, perfect for highlights, subtle accents, or painting skies and magical effects in fantasy or sci-fi scenes. With its bright tone and matte finish, it’s a favorite among painters who want to add a sense of light and energy to their miniatures.
This paint is fully opaque and lightfast, applying smoothly in thin coats. It’s excellent for layering and blending techniques, and when thinned with water or Vallejo’s matte or glaze mediums, it becomes a powerful tool for soft transitions or glowing effects. Whether you're creating a soft sky gradient or adding magical shimmer, Sky Blue delivers clarity and control.
Sky Blue works beautifully with other colors in the Model Color range. Use 70925 Blue as your base and layer Sky Blue as your highlight to create natural lighting transitions. For deeper shadows, pair it with 70930 Dark Blue. To push highlights even further, mix it with 70951 White to create icy tones ideal for extreme highlighting on armor or wings.
It’s an ideal color for painting sky elements in dioramas, reflective surfaces on vehicles, or magical lighting on weapons, wands, and power cores. In modern military schemes, Sky Blue can also serve as a cool accent alongside greys like 70870 Medium Sea Grey or 70990 Light Grey.
The paint is packaged in an 18ml r-PET bottle with a precise eyedropper cap, allowing for clean dispensing and less waste. This design keeps the paint from drying out and makes it easy to track your color usage. If the tip becomes clogged, just clear it with a toothpick or fine needle.
Thanks to its smooth consistency and high pigment load, Sky Blue applies evenly without leaving brush strokes. It’s ideal for fine detail work and flat surfaces alike. And if you make a mistake, it’s easily corrected while the paint is still wet using water or a touch of alcohol.
