Tamiya Clear Red X-27, is a transparent high-gloss clear red acrylic paint that is often used for wargaming to imitate fresh or (mixed with a dark color) old blood. Precisely because of the contrast of the reasonable matte acrylic paints and this high-gloss red paint, the "blood" becomes extra realistic.
Tamiya Clear Red X-27 is an acrylic paint but reacts differently than the average acrylic paints such as Vallejo, Citadel or P3. The Tamiya Clear Red dries less quickly. Initially it will mainly remain a thick mass, so that it flows beautifully as realistic blood. So it takes some getting used to and trying out how it works for you.
Tamiya Clear Red X-27 is easy to dilute with water, but it can also be perfectly mixed with, for example, black, brown, blue or purple inks or acrylic paints to apply some nuances in the blood.
For example, by mixing Tamiya Clear Red X-27 with the UHU Twist and Glue you can get amazing blood effects. For example, "threads" can be made with this blood that, for example, drip from the intestines of zombies or show recently wounded characters realistic wounds.
Tamiya Clear Red X-27 is irritating to the skin and it is therefore recommended for the so-called brush lickers to pay attention to this. Clean the brush well with water before using it for another paint
