Tamiya Clear Yellow X-24, is a transparent high-gloss clear yellow acrylic paint that is often used for wargaming to imitate fresh or (mixed with a dark color) old oil. It is precisely because of the contrast of the reasonable matte acrylic paints and this high-gloss yellow paint that the "oil" becomes extra realistic.
Tamiya Clear Yellow X-24 is an acrylic paint but reacts differently than the average acrylic paints such as Vallejo, Citadel or P3. The Tamiya Clear Yellow dries less quickly. Initially it will mainly remain a thick mass, making it flow nicely as a realistic oil. So it takes some getting used to and trying out how it works for you.
Tamiya Clear Yellow X-24 is easy to dilute with water, but it can also be perfectly mixed with, for example, black, brown, blue or purple inks or acrylic paints to add some nuances to the oil.
For example, by mixing Tamiya Clear Yellow X-24 with the UHU Twist and Glue you can get amazing oil effects. For example, "threads" can be made with this oil, for example dripping from the leaking pipes.
Tamiya Clear Yellow X-24 is irritating to the skin and it is therefore recommended for the so-called brush lickers to pay attention to this. Clean the brush well with water before using it for another paint
